Admissions

Registration for the 2010 - 2011 School Year
Registration is completed in four simple steps (for each student):

Complete an application form.
Provide BCA with former academic records; screening process if Kindergarten applicant with $25 screening fee, await acceptance.
Upon acceptance, complete the registration form.
Submit the registration form with a non-refundable registration fee of $400.

Tuition Schedule
The per-student tuition fees are not changing for the 2010-2011 school year:

	Pre-Kindergarten (2 full days*)	$3,085 per year
	Pre-Kindergarten (3 full days)	$4,600 per year
	Pre-Kindergarten (5 full days)	$6,050 per year
	Kindergarten (5 day)	$6,050 per year
	Grades 1-5	$6,050 per year

Before and After School Program Rates

Before school $65/month
After school $240/month; $370/month

Community Hours Obligation
The school will assess an annual community fee of $500 per family, which may be offset by contributing volunteer time to school events and activities. Twenty community hours must be completed and reported each semester for full-time student (K-8), twelve hours for Pre-K. If hours are not completed - $250 will be due by January 15th (1st semester) and $250 will be due by June 1st (2nd semester). Families may opt out of all community hours by paying $450 by September 1st. Hours must be reported and will be tracked in the school office. Families will be invoiced in any semester that hours are not completed and reported.

Withdrawal
If a student is withdrawn from BCA, a written 30-day notice must be submitted. Parents are responsible for tuition payments 90 days past written notice of withdrawal from the school. Tuition payments will not be refunded.

Returned Checks
A fee of $25 will be added to the family's account for each returned check the school receives.

Sibling Discounts
Beacon Christian Academy endeavors to make school affordable to all children. Thus, we have lowered our tuition levels to the lowest we believe is viable. To further offset high costs, we offer a 10% discount for the 3rd child and 20% discount for the 4th child in a family.

Pastors Discounts
We believe that strong ties to the local churches and church leadership are mutually beneficial. To encourage full-time pastors and missionaries to enroll their children at BCA, we offer these families a 20% tuition discount. This will be in addition to any financial aid for which they may qualify.

Gordon College and Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary Staff Discounts
As fellow Christian educators on the North Shore, Beacon offers a $1000 discount to all full-time Gordon College and Gordon Conwell staff families. This discount applies only to full-time students.

Financial Aid
BCA offers a formal financial aid program for 2010-2011. We are using an independent company to access financial need. This process is completely confidential and we encourage all families to apply for aid.

Financial Aid is limited; the application forms are available in the office.

Screening Process for Kindergarten
We at Beacon Christian Academy fully recognize that God has uniquely created each child. Because of this, we adhere to the fact that children develop at different rates and with different learning styles. Children of the Kindergarten age typically experience an exceptionally diverse range of development and consequently may not be ready for learning in a structured environment. In order to help ensure the best possibility of success, it is our policy to utilize a screening process for each of our Kindergarten applicants. The process involves the Kindergarten teacher administering a standardized evaluation tool and having the opportunity to interact with each child.

At the time of submitting the Kindergarten application form we will contact you to arrange a date for your child to be screened. Once the screening process is completed for your child, we will inform you relative to the readiness of your child for success in the BCA Kindergarten program. If your child is ready, a Registration Form will be mailed to you.
